The Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Music Week first started in 2006 and is an international piano music event approved by the Ministry of Culture and hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal Government. In May 2015, it became a member of the UNESCO Music Council. The WFIMC has become China’s leading international arts event. It is an international cultural brand that is recognized by top professionals in the world.
In order to present the professional piano music, from the orchestra to the choice of appointed pianos, the Music Weeks adhered to the highest level of precision. With the choice of appointed pianos, the Music Week continues to allow performers to choose their own brand of piano. The Music Week finally selected the German piano brand “Steinway” and the Chinese piano brand “Yangtze River” as an alternative, allowing 45 outstanding young pianists from 21 countries and regions to choose.
After its successful debut in 2014, the Yangtze Piano was once again selected as the appointed piano of the Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Music Week. This was definitely a new chapter for Chinese piano brands at the International Music Week World Federation (WFIMC) music event.

Yangtze River Piano helps Chinese players reach their peak
For three consecutive days since June 8, young pianists from various countries have successively declared and selected their pianos. During the selection of pianos, every pianists made a comprehensive evaluation of the appointed pianos in free play, combining with the needs of the performance. After comparing two Steinway pianos with a Yangtze River piano on stage, Bai Yanfeng, Chen Xuehong and Lu Yao of the Central Conservatory of Music, Li Yuemeng of the Royal Academy of Music and Wang Yijia of the Curtis Institute of Music in the United States all selected the Yangtze River piano for their performance.

In the third round of the Music Week, the Yangtze River piano becomes the ultimate choice of the sixth pianist. In the first two rounds of performance, Linzi Pan from the Curtis Institute of Music in the United States chose the Steinway piano as the appointed pianos. But he decided to choose the Yangtze River piano for his most critical round.
The sound of the Yangtze River piano echoed on the stage at the 4th Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Music Week and helped Bai Yanfeng, Linzi Pan and Chen Xuehong win the first, second and fourth places in the competition. The Yangtze River piano has shown the strength of Chinese piano brand at the top international piano music event.
